Hubbly Bubbly Harmless Fun Or Dangerous Drug?

Here are some facts you should know.

So just what is a hubbly bubbly

It goes by many names - a hub, water pipe, hookah, shisha goza or narghile. A hubbly bubbly is an instrument used for smoking flavored tobacco. It consists of a base container, normally made from glass, connected to at least one or more smoking pipes. The tobacco smoke is cooled by passing it by way of water within the container before being inhaled.

Is it really dangerous..

So isn't smoking through a water pipe less harmful than smoking a cigarette. Well the answer to that is NO, the water does not clean the smoke and much like a cigarette both have similar poisons which include nicotine, tar, carbon monoxide and lead among others. Carbon monoxide is the lethal gas that is also found in motor vehicles.

Another misconception is that you get less nicotine from a hubbly bubbly as opposed to a cigarette. Although the water from a hubbly does absorb some of the nicotine you can still be exposed to a high amount of it which can result in addiction. A typical hubbly smoker can take between 50-200 puffs in one session while a cigarette smoker takes around 10 puffs. This leaves a hubbly smoker exposed to a nicotine addiction. The tobacco smoke also contains tar which can result in cancer and a hubbly smoke session can contain up to 30 times more tar than a single cigarette.

Smoking a hubbly can be just as addictive as cigarettes. Common diseases related to smoking of tobacco are lung and bladder cancer aswell as cancer of the mouth it may even cause heart disease. Sharing of a hubbly pipe spreads germs that can cause tuberculosis and many other diseases. Non smokers can even be affected by the smoke if they breathe the air in a room where people smoke.

Pregnant woman should refrain from smoking a hubbly as poisons can pass from the mother's blood to the baby resulting in fetus abnormalities and stunted growth. Overall there is no safe way of smoking tobacco and it's potential health risks make it a danger to all who choose to indulge in it.
